Sir C.V. Raman
Has left a permanent impress on the minds and lives of humanity There can be little doubt that the spontaneous tribute of sorrow and reverence that his martyrdom has evoked from all parts of the world is in essence a recognition and a reciprocation of Mahatma Gandhi's own fundamental humanitarianism which transcended the limits of caste or creed or race or country. Asia has produced other such great humanitarians in the past whose lives have left behind a permanent impress on the minds and lives of humanity.
