Greatest advocate of Muslim cause In his activities in South Africa and in India, Mahatma Gandhi was more a leader of Muslims than of Hindus. He was the greatest advocate of the cause of Muslims, and tried, and tried successfully, to show them the right path. Had Mahatma Gandhi lived a few years more, he would have been able to bring peace, mutual friendship, and affection between Hindus and Muslims, not only in the Indian Union but also in Pakistan. It was a pity that Providence did not permit him to go to Pakistan. If he had had the chance of going there, the whole set-up of the country would have been changed.
